La Creperie Chicago Restaurant, nestled in the heart of Lincoln Park at 2845 N Clark St, offers an intimate and authentic French dining experience that transports guests to Paris. This charming locale is often described as a hidden gem, where diners can enjoy not only delicious crepes but also classic French dishes like escargot and French onion soup.
Customers rave about the cozy atmosphere, enhanced by delightful service and Parisian decor. Beatriz Santos highlights the joy of first-time experiences with escargot, while others, like Sheryl J, appreciate the inviting patio—a perfect spot for summer brunches. Although some reviews mention that the crepes could be more adventurous, the genuine French vibe and culinary offerings, such as the rich Chicken with Sautéed Mushroom crepe, elevate the experience. Johnny Vincent, a frequent visitor to France, proclaims La Creperie as the best authentic French restaurant in Chicago.
As you step inside, you're greeted with a sense of warmth and charm, making it ideal for cozy winter evenings or romantic dates. Be sure to reserve a spot, especially at the back area, and prepare your palate for a delightful culinary journey that captures the essence of French cuisine.

French cuisine and yummy crepes! Loved this place, it felt intimate and authentic. It was my first time trying escargot, and I loved it! French onion soup was a must. I’d love to come back with a group of friends!

Dining that leans towards experience. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, but you shouldn't go here, if you are hungry or you want to get a fancy meal. Crepes are basic. You can try a few flavours, but none of those are exciting. Suzette a la Germain were fine, but it was just a thin pancake with orange syrup. On the other hand, going here for the experience could make for a nice date. Try some snails (Escargots), get some wine, maybe a selection of cheese, and bam you could pretend like you are in a tiny french restaurant Brittany. Go get the onion soup (Soupe a l'oignon gratinee), look at all the posters, listen to some music, discuss Derrida or Foucault, and how Truffaut redefined the cinema. Reservations are highly recommended. Always ask for the area at the back.

I’ve been to France many times and I can easily say this is the best AUTHENTIC French restaurant in Chicago! Such a cozy atmosphere with great service- and the owner still works here! A true Chicago gem!

La Creperie is an absolute gem! The interior has so much charm and coziness and makes it a perfect spot for a winter evening. The service was very friendly and delightful. While the house bread was a bit dry, all other food items we tried were fantastic. The French Onion soup we tried was incredibly flavorful. I also had the Chicken with Sauteed Mushroom crepe, which was rich in flavor and very hearty.

Without a doubt, this was one of the best experiences I have had in years. The treatment from the owner of the establishment to the waitresses was exceptional and the attention they gave me was incredible. The food exceeded all my expectations: the crepes were, without a doubt, one of the best I have ever tasted. Also, the ice cream for my birthday was a very nice gesture. You definitely have to visit this place! You will not regret it.

Nice little neighborhood spot for yummy crepes. Came on a sunday afternoon and there was no wait. I've only ever had crepes a couple times and usually filled with chocolate. That's what I ordered this time, but a friend tried the mushroom one and it was soooo good. Next time I'll try savory instead.

Felt like we were in France. Great food and ambience. My 11 year old asked to try French food and we chose this place. We shared escargot, French onion soup, steak frites, and strawberry/banana Nutella crepes. My son is a picky eater and he tried it all and was full by the end. I was pleasantly surprised and we were both very satisfied. I highly recommend
